Close to 4 million businesses started in the United States in 2020 during the global pandemic. And Wise Marketing Strategy was one of them. We started the company to support education companies and institutions help more people teach and learn in incredible ways. We recognized that many organizations need the support of a senior-level strategic marketer to help expand, but they can't afford a full-time hire at that level.
Our mission is to support entrepreneurial leaders of education companies and institutions by expanding their organization's impact on people's lives and communities.
About the Company
We are passionate about entrepreneurship, education, and marketing, and that's what we get to do when we work with our clients! We partner with entrepreneurial leaders of education companies and educational institutions who recognize the value marketing can bring but don't know how to execute it themselves and can't afford to hire a full-time senior-level marketer.
We join their teams as a fractional CMO, ensuring marketing activities are contributing to business growth goals.
We understand marketing is a significant investment for organizations at this phase, so we show short-term results while working towards the long-term.
Wise Marketing Strategy is a certified woman business enterprise (WBE) in Massachusetts.
Our work ethic reflects our company values:
Founder and Fractional CMO
Kristen Johnson founded Wise Marketing Strategy in 2020 to provide entrepreneurial leaders of education companies and educational institutions with senior-level marketing expertise, for a fraction of the cost of hiring someone full-time.
Her father has been an entrepreneur for most of her life and led her to Babson College, the #1 school for entrepreneurship, where she spent eight years—four as a student and four as the managing director of marketing for their continuing education division. She spent over a decade working at advertising agencies for leading companies, including Bank of America while at Hill Holliday, CenturyLink while at Arnold Worldwide, and Wyeth while at the kaplan thaler group.
She lives in Massachusetts with her husband and son. She is a proud member and mentor for the StartED, EDmarket, edinno, Boston EdTech, and HeyMama communities.
Tiffany Whitcomb has nearly 15 years of experience in the education industry teaching Business-Entrepreneurship at the high school and Running Start level. Her unique background in both business and education offers a diverse perspective.
During her time as an educator, Tiffany has established a solid understanding of the needs of students, educators, administrators, and the school district. She has worked alongside both community members and collegiate partners to help expand opportunities for her students. These partnerships and her passion for business and helping others brought her to Wise Marketing Strategy to help those in education on a larger scale.
Outside of her love for education, you'll find her on the golf course, skiing in the mountains, or at home with her family. She enjoys spending time with her husband, three daughters, and Vizsla dog named Brewski.
