Our Story

Close to 4 million businesses started in the United States in 2020 during the global pandemic. And Wise Marketing Strategy was one of them. We started the company to support education companies and institutions help more people teach and learn in incredible ways. We recognized that many organizations need the support of a senior-level strategic marketer to help expand, but they can't afford a full-time hire at that level.

We partner with leaders of education organizations who recognize the value marketing can bring but don't have marketing expertise and can't afford to hire a full-time senior-level marketer. We ensure marketing activities are contributing to business growth goals and understand marketing is a significant investment for organizations at this phase, so we show short-term results while working towards the long-term.

Our Team

Founder, Fractional CMO and Marketing Advisor

Kristen Johnson

Kristen Johnson founded Wise Marketing Strategy in 2020 to provide leaders of education companies and institutions with senior-level marketing expertise for a fraction of the cost of hiring someone full-time.

She has 20 years of experience working in marketing, including four years leading the continuing education division of Babson College and over a decade working at advertising agencies for Fortune 500 companies. Her marketing strategy specialties are in brand strategy and integrated marketing with experience in traditional advertising, digital marketing, and marketing analytics.

She lives in Massachusetts with her husband and son. She is a proud mentor to edtech startups for StartEd and LearnLaunch, a member of the Future of Higher Education community, and a school council member at her son's elementary school. She is also a member of the Women's Business League and the North Shore Chamber of Commerce.

Education Strategist

Tiffany Whitcomb

Tiffany Whitcomb has nearly 15 years of experience in the education industry as a former CTE teacher in Business and Entrepreneurship at the high school and Running Start levels. Her unique background in both business and education offers a diverse perspective.

During her time as an educator, Tiffany established a solid understanding of the needs of students, educators, administrators, and the school district. She has worked alongside both community members and collegiate partners to help expand opportunities for her students. In addition to working with Wise Marketing Strategy, she is the Founder of Collaborative Teaching Solutions, helping alternative teachers navigate licensure and their transition to teaching.

Outside of her love for education, you'll find her on the golf course, skiing in the mountains, or at home with her family. She enjoys spending time with her husband, three daughters, and Vizsla dog named Brewski.
